For this project, we removed the former exterior load bearing wall separating the kitchen and the previously added sunroom to completely open up the space between the kitchen and the sunroom. We replaced kitchen vinyl flooring and sunroom carpeting with hardwood to match the adjoining living rooms and hallway. Since there were no upper cabinets over the sink to provide undercabinet task lighting, we cut a channel into the bottom of the stone sill and installed dimmable LED strip lighting to provide lighting for kitchen tasks.
